Cadorath Reduces Lead Time to Quotes

September 25, 2009

Prompt service is an important part of Cadorath's business model. Creating accurate and prompt quotes is a vital facet of that service.

Using the Lean management system (Scan, Sort, Simplify, Shine, Standardize and Sustain), Cadorath employees working on gearboxes have been able to significantly reduce lead times to quotes.

The average lead time to quote has been reduced by approximately 30% and has resulted in customers receiving their quotes in less business days than what was received previously.

This improvement allows Cadorath to process more gearboxes while giving their customers the proper information they need in a more timely fashion.

Cadorath employees are always looking at ways of reworking equipment tooling to reduce lead times as well as using specialized equipment for resolving issues inherent to working on the components used by Cadorath clients.

Other terms for the Lean management system are 5S, 6S, or Six-Sigma. This system has been proven to reduce workplace inefficiences and increase production. Cadorath first implemented this system in January of 2007.

Cadorath will continue to locate and implement efficiencies in as many areas as possible. By doing so, our customers will receive the best service and the highest quality that they deserve.
